The Christmas concert of the Ukrainian Bandura Band of North America will be shown online

The Ukrainian Bandura Band of North America (UBC) will hold a virtual concert “Christmas on the Bandura” on December 19.

According to Ukrinform, this is stated on the website of the band’s partner – the platform OurConcerts.live, created in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Thus, the choir under the direction of artistic director and conductor Oleg Makhlay will present a unique holiday program with the participation of a 60-string Ukrainian bandura instrument and a male choir. The 103rd UBC concert season includes musicians from all over North America.

The program “Christmas with a Bandura” will feature works in English, Latin and Ukrainian.

“As envoys of the Ukrainian musical tradition, they have given more than 1,000 concerts in North America, Australia, Europe and Ukraine. With a large program of work with schools and organizations, UBC seeks to share the bandura with university and school music programs, as well as with the global art community, “- said in a statement.

It will be recalled that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky presented state awards for outstanding services in supporting and disseminating Ukrainian bandura art in the diaspora to Oleg Makhlay and Anatoliy Murga.
