Ukraine interested in cooperation with Lithuania in cybersecurity

The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine is interested in cooperation with Lithuania in cybersecurity, in particular, at the level of cybercenters operating on the basis of NEC Ukrenergo and NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine.

Deputy Minister of Energy for Digital Development, Digital Transformations and Digitization Farid Safarov said at a meeting with representatives of the Lithuanian National Cyber Security Centre, Ukrinform reports with reference to the Ministry of Energy.

“We are interested in cooperation in the energy sector, in particular at the level of our cybercenters operating on the basis of Ukrenergo and Naftogaz. This will help strengthen not only the cybersecurity of our countries, but also the security of the region as a whole,” Safarov said.

It is noted that the first stage of cooperation between the cybercenters of the two countries will include the organization of a systematic exchange of information.

As reported, in March 2021, the Ministry of Energy joined the NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence. That was also when Ukraine and Lithuania signed agreements on further cooperation by signing a Joint Declaration on the establishment of a working group on enhanced strategic cooperation in the energy sector.
