Pentagon chief, Reznikov discuss further security assistance to Ukraine

U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin had a telephone conversation with Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov. The parties discussed further security assistance to Ukraine.

“Today, I had another phone call with my Ukrainian counterpart Oleksii Reznikov. We discussed the situation in eastern Ukraine, and we coordinated U.S. and international security assistance efforts to ensure the Ukrainians have the capabilities they need to keep countering Russia’s aggression,” Austin posted on Twitter.

The previous conversation between Austin and Reznikov took place earlier this week.

On May 9, U.S. President Joe Biden signed into law the Ukraine Democracy Defense Lend-Lease Act of 2022 which will expedite the U.S. assistance program to Ukraine.
