Information Warfare: russian fakes for June 23th, 2022

Millions of Ukrainians are encountering russian propaganda every day. It spreads through TV, radio, mass media, social networks, and word of mouth. To defeat the enemy, we must fight it on all fronts. To this end, we have prepared a daily compilation of russian fakes.

FAKE: A Ukrainian service for farying men across the border to avoid conscription.

Disproof:

russian propaganda likes to portray Ukrainians as cowards who do not wish to fight to protect their land. The reality proves the opposite, but when did russian propaganda ever care for reality?

This fake is a part of such a narrative. On one hand, it creates an illusion that Ukrainians are fleeing from conscription en masse, on the other, it plays on the fears of Ukrainian mothers, who could actually use the Telegram channel provided in the ad and unwittingly leak vital information to russia. But, as usual, the main problem with this fake is the execution. After four months of the war, russian propagandists haven’t managed to learn Ukrainian, either due to their hubris, or incompetence. In any case, there are multiple grammatical errors in the ad, clearly showing that it was made by a russian.

Be advised: russia is waging a full-scale information war against Ukraine. There are multitudes of new fakes swarming through the mass media every day. To protect you and your family, be sure to obtain and share your information only from official sources.
