In Kharkiv, a security guard was killed in the university building, shelled by Russian invaders overnight Wednesday.

This was reported on Telegram by the press service of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

“The investigation has learned that on July 6, at around 1 a.m., the military of the aggressor power shelled the Kyivsky district of Kharkiv. As a result of the shelling, the building of a local higher education facility suffered significant damage. A security guard, 40, was killed,” the statement reads.

A pre-trial inquiry has been launched into the violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with intentional murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Police officers and prosecutors inspected the scene as a joint team. The case will later be forwarded to the Security Service (SBU) Office in Kharkiv region.

Memo. The Russian forces opened fire from the territory of Russia’s Belgorod region at the Novobavarskyi, Kyivskyi, and Osnovyanskyi districts of Kharkiv. The university building and part of the administrative premises were destroyed in the attack.

Over the past day, three people, including a two-year-old toddler, were injured by Russian shelling across Kharkiv region.

In addition, on July 5, 2022, Russian invaders opened fire on the aquatic areas in the Ochakiv community. In the Kutsurub community, dry grass caught fire as a result of Russia’s shelling. Two power transmission towers between settlements were damaged. Crop fields caught fire in the Pervomaisk community’s village of Kvitneve. The Shyroke community came under enemy fire in the morning and in the afternoon of July 5, 2022. One residential house was destroyed, one more damaged, and a tractor burnt down. In the Bereznehuvate community, Russian invaders are opening fire on settlements all over the demarcation line. The data on casualties and damage are yet to be checked. According to the Main Department of the Ukrainian State Emergency Service in Mykolaiv Region, as Russian projectiles and their fragments hit military and civilian objects in Mykolaiv Region on July 5, 2022, four fires broke out. A reminder that, in the morning of July 5, 2022, Russian invaders fired missiles at the city of Mykolaiv. As a result, a culture hall was destroyed completely; a military object and seven residential houses were damaged.

The relevant statement was made by Sloviansk City Military Civil Administration on Telegram, referring to Sloviansk City Military Administration Head Vadym Liakh, “According to the verified data, two civilians were killed in yesterday’s massive shelling of Sloviansk. Seven more were injured,” the report states. In general, since the Russian invasion started, a total of 17 civilians have been killed and 67 injured in the Sloviansk community. A reminder that, on July 5, 2022, a total of 144 civilians were evacuated from Sloviansk, including 20 children.

On the 5th of Jule, at approximately 7:45 p.m., the Russian occupiers shelled the Khmelnytskyi region with rockets.

Russian invaders aimed at the water tower that supplies the Khmelnytskyi community with water. This was announced by the head of Khmelnytskyi Regional Military Administration Serhii Gamalii.  “Yesterday, during an air alert, around 7:45 p.m., the Rashists fired 4 rockets over the territory of our region. One rocket was shot down by our air defense forces, debris fell on the territory of the Shepetivsky district. Three other rockets hit the territory of one of the communities of the Khmelnytskyi district. The target of the strikes was a water tower that fully supplies the community with water. As a result of the explosions, one person was injured,” said Gamalii.
