Rutte announces additional NATO aid for Ukraine following talk with Trump

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte held a phone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday and announced “billions more in aid” for Ukraine.

He shared this news on the social media platform X, according to Ukrinform.

According to Rutte, both the U.S. and NATO are getting stronger. He also noted that NATO members are “moving quickly to invest more in defense.”

Regarding Ukraine, Alliance members are preparing “billions more in aid and contributions to security guarantees”, the NATO Secretary General stated.

As reported by Ukrinform, Rutte had previously emphasized that since the start of Russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine, NATO’s European allies and Canada have increased defense spending by €700 billion, but this is no longer sufficient.
