Air Defense Forces destroyed 25 of 57 drones used by Russia to attack Ukraine

Defense Forces shot down 18 drones used by the Russian army to attack Ukraine since yesterday evening, while seven more enemy UAV simulators were lost/jammed by electronic warfare means.

This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

According to the military, from 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 19, Russian invaders launched a total of 57 Shahed-type strike drones and various types of drone simulators from their cities of Orel, Kursk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.

Zaporizhzhia, as well as the frontline territories of Donetsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, and Dnipropetrovsk regions, were hit.

The enemy attack was repelled by anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare, and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

It has been preliminarily determined that as of 09:00, air defense forces shot down 18 Russian Shahed-type drones (other types of UAVs) in the north and east of the country. Seven more drones were lost/suppressed by electronic warfare.

There were 32 enemy drones hit in ten locations, with downed targets (debris) falling in six locations.

The Air Force emphasizes that the attack is ongoing. A new “wave” of Russian Shahed-type drones is heading from the northeast.

As reported by Ukrinform, on the night of July 20, the Russian army struck the city of Zaporizhzhia and the surrounding area, hitting civilian infrastructure. There are casualties.
