Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal held a meeting with National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov and deputy defense ministers responsible for international cooperation and procurement. They discussed the production of weapons, in particular interceptor drones.

According to Ukrinform, Shmyhal reported this on Facebook.

“On the agenda is the implementation of the President’s tasks following the results of the Technology Staff meeting on June 27. We went through all the points. First of all, providing soldiers with the necessary equipment and weapons,” Shmyhal stated.

According to him, this also concerns the protection of Ukrainian cities.

“We will scale up production in Ukraine and purchase interceptor drones from partners that have already proven themselves. We expect tangible results soon,” Shmyhal emphasized.

The deputies discussed procurement, contracting, and financing of production, and reviewed priorities. Shmyhal assigned the relevant tasks.

“We will intensify work in each area to strengthen our defense capabilities,” Shmyhal concluded.

As reported by Ukrinform, Shmyhal held a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov. The main focus was on the production of weapons, interceptor drones, and deregulation in the defense sector to speed up the transfer of equipment to the military.
