President Volodymyr Zelensky received a report from Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi on the situation at the front and discussed the issue of increasing the production and supply of drones for the Armed Forces.
Zelensky announced this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
“Report by Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi. Our forces continue to destroy Russian sabotage groups in Pokrovsk and other areas. The enemy’s tactics remain the same: it is trying to capture new positions with small groups. Ukrainian units are using all necessary means to detect and neutralize such activity by the occupiers,” the message says.
The situation in the border areas of the Sumy Region was also discussed. Zelensky thanked all the units involved for fully completing their tasks and especially commended the 25th Separate Airborne “Sicheslav” Brigade for its actions in the Pokrovsk sector, as well as the 225th Separate Assault Battalion and the 80th Separate Air Assault Brigade for defending the Sumy Region.
The commander also reported to the President on our long-range strikes, in particular the frequency and effectiveness of deep strikes, and focused on increasing the production of drones.
“Russian logistics must suffer significantly in response to the prolongation of this war. The Commander-in-Chief, along with the Minister of Defense and the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, are currently reviewing all requests for additional funding for the production and supply of drones. This includes both drones for the front lines and for protecting our cities and communities from Russian strike drones. The relevant additional contracts will be signed next week,” Zelensky added.
As reported, Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal met with NSDC Secretary Rustem Umerov and deputy defense ministers responsible for international cooperation and procurement. They discussed the production of weapons, in particular, interceptor drones.
