Russian troops shell Kherson region village with artillery, killing one person

Russian troops fired artillery at the village of Sadove in the suburbs of Kherson in the morning, killing a 52-year-old man who was in his yard at the time of the shelling. At the same time, a 70-year-old woman was injured in the village of Chervonyi Maiak due to the detonation of Russian explosives.

This was reported by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

“On the morning of July 22, Russian troops carried out an artillery strike on the village of Sadove in the Kherson district. A 52-year-old local resident, who was in his yard at the time of the shelling, suffered fatal injuries,” the report said.

The Kherson District Prosecutor’s Office has launched a pre-trial investigation into the commission of a war crime that resulted in the death of a person (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

At the same time, a 70-year-old woman was injured in the village of Chervonyi Maiak in the Kherson region due to the detonation of Russian explosives.

“At around 10:00 a.m. in the village of Chervonyi Maiak, a local resident was injured by the detonation of Russian explosives,” the regional prosecutor’s office said in a statement.

The 70-year-old woman stepped on a Russian anti-personnel mine called “Lepestok.” The woman suffered an explosive injury, amputation of her foot, and shrapnel wounds.

The victim was hospitalized in serious condition.

As reported by Ukrinform, Russian troops struck the village of Inzhenerne and the Dniprovsky district of Kherson, injuring two men and one woman.
