During a conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron, President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed the supply of missiles for SAMP/T systems, financing for interceptor drones, and training pilots for Mirage aircraft

He announced this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

“We discussed the situation on the front lines and Ukraine’s priority defense needs. I am grateful to Emmanuel for his truly strategic vision and willingness to help with exactly what our soldiers need. We also talked in detail about strengthening Ukraine’s air defense, in particular the supply of missiles for SAMP/T systems and the financing of interceptor drones. We will prepare joint decisions with France and partners at the level of defense ministers and foreign ministers on new steps to protect the lives of our people from Russian strikes,” Zelensky said.

He separately noted the agreement on training pilots for Mirage aircraft. According to Zelensky, France is ready to accept additional pilots for training on additional aircraft.

The presidents also discussed the work of the Coalition of the Willing and the implementation of the agreements reached at the recent meeting. “I also thanked France for its significant contribution to the implementation and promotion of the 18th package of EU sanctions. We are also working with our American partners to ensure that Russia feels truly global pressure. Every day of the war’s prolongation should have truly painful consequences for Russia,” Zelensky said.

As reported, in January, Zelensky discussed with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni the supply of missiles for SAMP/T systems. This system is a joint development of French and Italian companies.
