56 combat clashes on frontline, one-third of which occured in Pokrovsk sector

Ukrinform reports that the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine published up-to-date information on Facebook as of 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 20.

“Today, the communities of Yizdetske, Popivka, Bratenytsia, Chernatske, Buniakine, Malushyne, Novovasylivka, Bila Bereza, and Marine in the Sumy Region were hit by enemy artillery and mortar fire,” the report said.

Nine enemy attacks took place today in the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, with five combat engagements continuing to this hour. The invaders’ aviation carried out five airstrikes, dropping six guided aerial bombs. Additionally, the enemy launched 111 artillery strikes against Ukrainian troops and populated areas.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, Russian invaders continue their attack in the Vovchansk area.

In the Kupiansk sector, there were two attacks by Russian invaders in the Kindrashivka area and toward Kupiansk.

In the Lyman sector, the invading army carried out eight attacks on Ukrainian positions in the areas of the settlements of Karpivka, Kolodiazi, and toward Serebrianka. Three battles are currently ongoing.

In the Siversk sector, the enemy has attacked Ukrainian defenders’ positions twice since the beginning of the day in the areas of Vyimka and Hryhorivka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Defense Forces units repelled one enemy attack in the direction of Predtechyne.

In the Toretsk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled five enemy attempts to break through Ukrainian defenses in the areas of Dyliivka, Shcherbynivka, Rusyn Yar, Toretsk, and toward Katerynivka. Two battles are still ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Russian invaders have made 17 attempts since the beginning of the day to dislodge Ukrainian soldiers from their positions in areas near the settlements of Poltavka, Udachne, Novoeekonomichne, Lysivka, Zvirove, Novopavlivka, Horikhove, Oleksiivka, and toward Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad. Defense forces are holding back the offensive and have already repelled 14 attacks.

In the Novopavlivka sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 11 assaults by enemy troops in the areas of the settlements of Yalta, Myrne, Tolstoi, Voskresenka, Maliivka, Zelenе Pole, Temyrivka, and Novopil.

In the Huliaipole, Orikhiv, and Prydniprovske sectors, the enemy did not conduct any assaults but carried out airstrikes on the settlements of Plavni, Prymorske, and Odradokamianka.

Ukrinform reported that the Defense Forces shot down 18 drones used by the Russian army to attack Ukraine in the evening, and seven more enemy UAV simulators were lost/jammed by electronic warfare means.
