Ukraine ranks second at Beijing Paralympics medal tally

Ukraine national team finished its participation in the XIII Paralympic Winter Games in Beijing (China). Over the nine days of competition, Ukrainian athletes won 11 gold, 10 silver, 8 bronze medals and ranked second in the overall team standing, Ukrinform reports. Twenty-nine Ukrainian athletes competed in two sports (biathlon and skiing): 20 Paralympians (13 - with musculoskeletal disorders, 7 - with visual impairments) and 9 guides. Ukrainian freestyle skier Oleksandr Abramenko, 33, has won a silver medal in the men's aerials event at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. Abramenko scored 116.50 points in the super final, Ukrinform reports. China's Qi Guangpu (129.0 points) took gold and ROC's Ilia Burov (114.93 points) claimed bronze.
