RFE/RL journalists came under Russian shelling near Bakhmut, Donetsk region.

That’s according to an RFE/RL correspondent Marian Kushnir, who spoke of the incident on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

According to the journalist, “heavy firefights are going on in Donbas, it isn’t easy outside Bakhmut.”

The blast appears to have damaged the windshield, while “shrapnel flew at the car body, but so lightly that it’s almost invisible,” said Kushnir.

“When the rocket hit, I thought the car was finished. But it wasn’t. It survived. It drove us out of there at speed. So let’s roll. I will try to prepare the text and video of the firefight as soon as possible,” the journalist said.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, in March 2022, Kushnir suffered a concussion as a result of a Russian strike in Kyiv region.
