Casualties are reported as a result of an explosion that rocked the area near a local market in Chornobaivka, Kherson region.
Serhii Khlan, a deputy of the regional council and adviser to the Kherson Regional State Administration head, announced this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
“In Chornobaiivka this morning, a bomb went off near the market. Unfortunately, there are people injured and killed,” Khlan wrote.
The official said that the incident was an act of terror by Russian forces.
“The occupiers seek to intimidate people and avenge high-precision attacks by the Armed Forces on their artillery units. They are trying to bring down the high fighting spirit of the people of Kherson region by murdering civilians,” he said.
As Ukrinform reports, the Kherson City Council press service staffers who fled the occupied territory received confirmation of the blast from people living by the market. Locals tell of a scheme where, after invaders shell Chornobaiivka, a local collaborator, Stremousov, arrives at the site to “shoot a report” and blame the Armed Forces for the attack.
According to local residents, at least two people were killed in the latest blast, while five to seven were injured.
As reported earlier, the Russian invasion army has repeatedly fired on the territory of the Chornobaivka village community. Police are already investigating the attack of May 18 when a local resident was killed and five – injured.
