Russia’s Federation Council unanimously approves annexation of occupied territories of Ukraine

Members of Russia’s Federation Council have ratified documents on Russia’s “annexation” of the occupied territories of Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk and Kherson regions of Ukraine.

Ukrinform reports this with reference to Meduza.

It is noted that Russian senators approved all four documents unanimously.

In addition, the Russian Federation Council separately adopted federal constitutional laws on the “accession of four new entities to the Russian Federation.”

The day before, on October 3, deputies of Russia’s State Duma at an extraordinary plenary session unanimously ratified documents on Russia’s annexation of Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk and Kherson regions of Ukraine.

As Ukrinform reported, on September 30, the Kremlin held a ceremony on “the accession to Russia” of the self-proclaimed “DPR/LPR”, as well as the territories of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions captured by the Russian army.
