Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Synegubov discussed the financing of mine clearance in the region with famous American businessman Howard Buffett.
“Today I had a meeting with Howard Buffett, a well-known American businessman and public figure. First of all, we discussed the financing of organizations engaged in the mine clearance in the region. Our task is to speed up this process as Kharkiv region is the region most contaminated with occupiers’ mines, and local residents of the de-occupied territories suffer from explosions almost every day,” Synegubov posted on Telegram.
In addition, the restoration of critical infrastructure and crisis assistance in case of emergency situations during the winter period were discussed at the meeting.
According to Synegubov, the United States of America and the Buffett Foundation are reliable partners of Ukraine and Kharkiv region in particular. Howard Buffett believes in Ukraine’s victory and constantly supports the reconstruction projects throughout the country.
Since the beginning of Russia’s large-scale military invasion of the territory of Ukraine, 268,359 explosive objects and 2,845 kg of explosives, including 2,140 aerial bombs, have been exposed of. An area of about 74,000 hectares has been inspected.
