Melnyk to Sholtz: Russia only understands strength. Give Putin ultimatum

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Melnyk believes that Germany should not ask, but in an ultimatum form, demand Russia to withdraw its troops from Ukraine.

He voiced his position on Twitter, addressing German Chancellor Olaf Scholz

“Mr. Chancellor. It’s good that you shouted to Putin to ‘stop the war’. But these are just words. Russia only understands force. Give Putin an ultimatum. With painful consequences. Stop the energy genocide against Ukrainians. Do it,” Melnyk wrote.

We will remind you that the day before, Scholz directly addressed the President of the Russian Federation, Putin. “Stop this war, withdraw your troops and clear the way for peace negotiations with Ukraine, which would not be dictated by Russia. No country is a neighbor’s backyard. No one has the right to encroach on someone else’s territory,” Scholz said at the state party conference Social Democratic Party of Germany.
