Last night Russian troops struck two communities in the Dnipropetrovsk region’s Nikopol district with heavy artillery.

The relevant statement was made by Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration Head Valentyn Reznichenko on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Five attacks and four civilians injured. Last night the Nikopol district was again struck with enemy heavy artillery. Russians opened fire on two communities, Nikopol and Marhanets. The city of Nikopol suffered the most,” Reznichenko wrote.

In his words, four elderly people were injured in Nikopol.

In particular, a couple was rescued from an apartment, which had caught fire. They received medical aid and will continue treatment at home. Two more people – a man, 72, and a woman, 86, – were taken to hospital with mine and explosive injuries in moderately grave condition.

Eleven apartment blocks and detached houses were seriously damaged in Nikopol.

According to Reznichenko, Russian projectiles caused damage to a kindergarten, administrative and office buildings, car wash, several vehicles, gas pipeline and power transmission lines.
