On December 22, 2022, Russian troops launched 54 strikes on three border communities in the Sumy region.
The relevant statement was made by Sumy Regional Military Administration Head Dmytro Zhyvytskyi on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“The enemy has launched 54 strikes on the border areas over the past day. The following communities came under enemy fire: Bilopillia, Khotin and Znob-Novhorodske,” Zhyvytskyi wrote.
In particular, Russians launched four mortar strikes on the Bilopillia community. A total of 37 mortar shells exploded, having caused damage to a detached house, rural cultural hall and shop.
Russian invaders also launched artillery strikes on the Khotin community. Twelve explosions were recorded.
Additionally, enemy mortar strikes were reported in the Znob-Novhorodske community. Five projectiles were fired at a border village.
According to Zhyvytskyi, no casualties among civilians were reported.
