Belarus extends combat readiness checks of its armed forces

To maintain the army on combat alert, Belarus extended its combat readiness checks until January 30.

This is stated in the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 18:00, January 21, published on Facebook.

“Units of territorial troops are redeployed to Belarus. To maintain the army on combat alert, Belarus extended its combat readiness checks until January 30,” the report reads.

During the day, the Russian troops launched 26 airstrikes and 15 MLRS attacks. According to the General Staff data, the main efforts of the Russian Federation are focused on attempts to completely occupy Donetsk region.

In Avdiivka direction, the invaders made futile attempts to go on the offensive. Attempts to attack in Bakhmut and Zaporizhzhia directions are ongoing, and the intensity of aircraft use is increasing. In other directions, the enemy holds the defense.

No enemy offensive groups were detected in Volyn, Polissia, Sivershchyna, and Slobozhanshchyna directions.

Belarus continues to provide comprehensive support to Russian aggression. In addition to joint exercises, training of Russian units is ongoing in the territory of the country.

The enemy does not stop launching artillery strikes along the entire contact line. Bachivsk and Volfyne in Sumy region; Veterynarne, Kozacha Lopan, Strilecha, Krasne, Starytsia, Ohirtseve, Vovchansk, Budarky, Kolodiazne, Novomlynsk in Kharkiv region came under Russian mortar and artillery fire.

In Kupyansk direction, Russian troops shelled the areas of Synkivka, Kucherivka, Pishchane, Krokhmalne, Novoselivka, Stelmakhivka, Vyshneve, Pershotravneve in Kharkiv region, Novoselivka and Stelmakhivka in Luhansk region, using tanks, mortars, tube and rocket artillery.

In Lyman direction, the invaders shelled Novoyehorivka, Makiivka, Ploshchanka, Nevske, Chervonopopivka, Dibrova, and Serebryanske forestry in Luhansk region.

In Bakhmut direction, the Defense Forces’ positions in the area of more than 25 settlements were hit by the Russian army, in particular, in Verkhniokamyanske, Vyimka, Bilohorivka, Blahodatne, Bakhmut, Klishchiivka, Bila Hora, Dyliivka, Druzhba, and Zalizne in Donetsk region.

In Avdiivka direction, Avdiivka, Vodiane, Pervomaiske, Nevelske, Heorhiivka, Marinka, Novomykhailivka in Donetsk region were struck.

In Novopavlivka direction, Russian troops hit Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, and Velyka Novosilka in Donetsk region.

In Zaporizhzhia direction, more than 25 settlements, including Vremivka and Novopil in Donetsk region, Olhivske, Huliaypole, Charivne, Novodanylivka, Kamyanske, Plavni in Zaporizhzhia region came under enemy fire.

In Kherson direction, the Russians again struck Vesele in Zaporizhzhia region and Kozatske, Novoberyslav, Tiahynka, Tokarivka, Sadove, Naddnipriansk, Kherson in Kherson region with artillery.

According to the General Staff data, the enemy is strengthening the control of civilian population records in the temporarily captured territories of Kherson region.

During the day, Ukraine’s Air Force launched 13 strikes on enemy concentration areas and two more on the positions of its anti-aircraft missile systems. Ukrainian artillery also struck an enemy cluster.
