EU to be with Ukraine for as long as it takes: Ursula von der Leyen

On the first anniversary of Russia’s unprovoked and brutal aggression against Ukraine, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, addressed the people of Ukraine with words of support and solidarity.

The EC president posted her address on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.

“One year of brutal Russian aggression. One year of heroic Ukrainian resistance. One year of European solidarity. Ahead of us is a future of unity. You are fighting for freedom, for democracy, and for your place in the European Union. We are with you, for as long as it takes. Slava Ukraini! And long live Europe” Ursula von der Leyen stressed.

Memo. On February 24, 2022, Russia unleashed a new stage of the war against Ukraine – a full-scale offensive. From the first days of the invasion, the EU has been providing political, economic, financial, humanitarian, and military assistance to Ukraine and its people.
