Sweden is joining the international “tank coalition”, announcing its intention to send 10 Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine.

That’s according to the Swedish government press service and Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson.

“Sweden is joining the ‘Leopard family’ in support of Ukraine, through Swedish Leopard 2 tanks. Today’s military package also includes further air defence components. We will continue to help Ukraine win the war,” Kristersson tweeted on Friday.

The Swedish government said the country is posed to deliver up to 10 Leopard 2 tanks and HAWK anti-aircraft systems as part of an 11th defense support package, Reuters wrote.

“The Swedish tanks reinforce the Leopard 2 contribution that other European countries make. Coordination of support is ongoing with international partners donating Leopard 2 or other tanks,” the government said in a statement.
