Over the past day, Russian troops have opened fire on seven communities in the Sumy region. A total of 117 explosions were recorded.
The relevant statement was made by Sumy Regional Military Administration on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
In particular, the following communities were affected: Bilopillia, Esman, Shalyhyne, Nova Sloboda, Znob-Novhorodske, Myropillia, Yunakivka. The enemy used mortars and artillery.
At 08:55 a.m., March 4, 2023, Russians fired 12 mortar shells at the Bilopillia community’s village of Iskryskivshchyna, as well as launched five artillery strikes. A local culture hall and a power transmission line were damaged. At 11:56 a.m., the enemy repeatedly launched five artillery strikes. At 04:30 p.m., another five mortar shells landed.
In the Shalyhyne community, Russians presumably used 120 mm mortars to launch three strikes at 11:15 a.m. Later, the enemy launched 20 strikes with self-propelled artillery. After 12:00 (noon), Russian invaders shelled the community with mortars.
In the Esman community, thirty-one Russian mortar shells landed during the day.
In the Nova Sloboda community, four explosions from mortar shells were recorded at 12:05 p.m.
In the Znob-Novhoroske community, Russian invaders launched eight mortar strikes on the outskirts of the village of Novovasylivka at 12:50 p.m. A power transmission line was damaged.
In the Myropillia community, six enemy mortar shells landed at 03:00 p.m.
In the Yunakivka community, Russian invaders launched five artillery strikes at 07:05 p.m.
A reminder that, on March 3, 2023, six communities came under enemy fire in the Sumy region. A local man was reported killed.
