As part of the Contact Group on Ukraine’s Defense meeting in the Ramstein format, a meeting of defense ministers of the countries that are members of the so-called tank coalition will be held on Friday, April 21.
This statement was published by the Ministry of National Defense of Poland, Ukrinform reports.
“The conference will be devoted to assessing the current military situation in Ukraine, discussing the scope of support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as plans and new military capabilities in this regard,” the statement said.
It is noted that a meeting of defense ministers of the so-called tank coalition is also planned in Ramstein, which will be attended by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defense of Poland Mariusz Blaszczak.
He will also have a bilateral meeting with his British counterpart, Ben Wallace.
According to the Polish Defense Ministry, the country is one of Ukraine’s largest humanitarian and military aid donors. In particular, Poland is implementing a so-called training package for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and has provided various military equipment worth more than €2.5 billion.
As reported, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg during his visit to Kyiv, said that at the meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine’s Defense in the Ramstein format, NATO allies would make new commitments to supply Ukraine with weapons, as well as to provide support and maintenance for those weapons systems that have already been transferred to Kyiv.
