A total of 475 children have been killed and over 953 injured in Ukraine since the Russian invasion started.
The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“As of April 29, 2023, over 1,428 children in Ukraine were affected by the Russian armed aggression. According to the data from juvenile prosecutors, a total of 475 children were killed and over 953 received injuries of various severity levels,” the report states.
These data are not final, as they are being investigated within the areas of hostilities, temporarily occupied and liberated areas.
Currently, most casualties were recorded in the Donetsk region (452), Kharkiv region (275), Kyiv region (128), Kherson region (94), Zaporizhzhia region (89), Mykolaiv region (88), Chernihiv region (69), Dnipropetrovsk region (67) and Luhansk region (66).
On April 28, 2023, four children (two girls, 8 and 10, and two boys, 15 and one and a half years old) were killed in Russia’s missile strike on a 9-storey apartment block in the Cherkasy region’s Uman.
On April 29, 2023, a 14-year-old boy was injured in Russia’s shelling of the Chernihiv region’s Semenivka district.
