Police officers and volunteers have evacuated 366 children from the districts of Kherson region that are under constant fire from Russian forces.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs posted this on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.
“366 children of Kherson region have been evacuated by police officers and volunteers. The children lived in Beryslav district, in Bilozerka and Dariivka communities and the suburbs of Kherson. These districts are now heavily shelled by the Russian army’s artillery,” the post says.
For its part, the National Police informed that the largest number of evacuees was from Kherson district (137 children). As many as 131 children were evacuated from Beryslav district, 69 more from the suburbs of Kherson, which suffer every hour from enemy strikes from the left bank of the Dnipro River, and 29 children from two villages of Kakhovka district.
“Many families with children are remaining in the settlements shelled by the Russian army. Work with them continues, adults are being persuaded to evacuate to safe places and not to expose their children to danger,” the National Police said.
As Ukrinform reported, 370 children were taken from Donetsk region to safer regions in two months as part of the mandatory evacuation.
