Police opens over 78,200 criminal proceedings over Russian war crimes in Ukraine

The National Police of Ukraine has opened a total of 78,248 criminal proceedings over Russian war crimes in Ukraine since the full-scale invasion started.

The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Internal Affairs Ministry, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Since the Russian full-scale invasion started, the National Police of Ukraine has opened 78,248 criminal proceedings over the crimes committed on the territory of Ukraine by the Russian military and their accomplices,” the report states.

According to the ministry, a total of 65,919 cases are under investigation for the violation of the laws and customs of war, 9,192 – for the encroachment on Ukraine’s territorial integrity and inviolability, 2,880 – for collaborative activities, 154 – for treason, etc.

A reminder that, within the de-occupied areas across eight regions, the National Police of Ukraine established eight special police teams to reveal and document the sexual offences committed by Russian soldiers in Ukraine.
