Sixty-two bodies of fallen defenders returned to Ukraine

Sixty-two more bodies of the fallen defenders have been brought back to Ukraine today.

The relevant statement was made by Commissioner on Persons Gone Missing Oleh Kotenko on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“The transfer of bodies of the fallen servicemen who had given their lives for Ukraine has taken place today. We managed to return 62 bodies of the defenders to their relatives,” Kotenko wrote.

In his words, the process of returning bodies from the temporarily occupied areas of Ukraine took place with the assistance of the Office of the Commissioner for Missing Persons under the Ukrainian Temporarily Occupied Territories Reintegration Ministry in cooperation with security agencies and international organizations.

Kotenko mentioned that the transfer of bodies of the fallen soldiers continues and is carried out in accordance with the Geneva Conventions.

A reminder that, on July 12, 2023, Ukraine brought back 19 bodies of the warriors who had died in Russian captivity.
