In Ukraine, three state-owned defense plants have already started production of FPV drones.
Yaroslav Oliynyk, adviser to the Minister of Strategic Industries, said this during a speech at the iForum conference, Ukrinform reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine.
The minister’s adviser also said that three domestic enterprises had already started the production of FPV drones.
“Now they are training staff and working on setting up the purchase of components. I cannot disclose details for security reasons,” he said.
Oliynyk also presented five main steps to achieve this goal. First of all, in his opinion, preference should always be given to the Ukrainian manufacturer.
“In the general concept of development of the Ukrainian defense industry, which Minister Kamyshin spoke about, we should be guided by economic nationalism. A Ukrainian manufacturer should be given priority,” the minister’s adviser emphasized.
He also added that the Ministry of Strategic Industries worked to scale and develop the Ukrainian UAV market. For this, they are looking for ways of partnership between state and private manufacturers, localizing the production of components in Ukraine, and cooperating with international investors, funds, and manufacturers.
As reported, the Armed Forces of Ukraine already use 10 different models of FPV drones.
