Zelensky discusses ‘grain deal’ with Zambian president and invites to Global Peace Summit

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held negotiations with President of Zambia Hakainde Hichilema and discussed a ‘grain deal’ and preparations for the Global Peace Summit.

The head of state announced this on the social network X (formerly Twitter), according to Ukrinform.

“Negotiations with the President of Zambia Hakainde Hichilema. Formula for Peace and Restoration of the Black Sea Grain Initiative”, Zelensky wrote.

According to him, the conversation focused on the fact that the use of food as a weapon is unacceptable. 

The President invited Zambia to join the preparation of the Global Peace Summit and to participate in the next meeting at the level of advisers.

As reported, the second meeting at the level of national security advisers and political directors on key principles of peace based on the Peace Formula of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy was held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on August 5-6.

The Peace Formula refers to ensuring radiation, nuclear, food, and energy security, releasing all prisoners and deportees, implementing the UN Charter and restoring Ukraine’s territorial integrity and world order, withdrawing Russian troops and ending hostilities, restoring justice, countering ecocide, preventing escalation, and fixing the end of the war.

The Global Peace Summit is expected to be held in the fall.
