Zelensky confirms Greece joins security guarantees for Ukraine

Greece has joined a declaration of the Group of Seven (G7) countries regarding support for Ukraine.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said this in post on Telegram, thanking Greece for such a step, Ukrinform reports.

“I am grateful to Greece for joining the G7 declaration on supporting Ukraine. Greece became the 14th country to support security guarantees for Ukraine,” he said.

The Head of State thanked Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis for his commitment to the Ukrainian-Greek partnership.

“We are working together on Ukraine’s path to NATO,” Zelensky emphasized.

As reported earlier by Ukrinform, Greek media reported negotiations between Kyiv and Athens regarding security guarantees.

On July 12, the leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) countries agreed on the Joint Declaration of Support for Ukraine on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Vilnius.

As of August 2, 12 countries joined the G7 declaration on security guarantees for Ukraine.
