Ukraine and Sweden are preparing a strong project for the development of Ukrainian combat aviation.
This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky in his evening address, according to Ukrinform.
“We are preparing new steps with Sweden in the development of our Ukrainian combat aviation—this could be a strong project for decades,” Zelensky said.
He noted that all partners, as well as Ukraine, clearly understand the threats. Everyone sees that Russia has not taken any real steps toward peace, no steps on the ground or in the air that could save lives.
“That is why sanctions are needed, pressure is needed. Strength is needed – first and foremost, the strength of the United States, the strength of Europe, the strength of all nations of the world that want peace and tranquility in international relations. If Russia does not want to stop the war, then its economy must be stopped,” the President emphasized.
Zelensky said that he has been negotiating almost around the clock these days with everyone who respects international law. There will be more meetings and more contacts.
On Sunday alone, the President of Ukraine spoke with the Prime Minister of Sweden, the President of Kazakhstan, the President of Azerbaijan, and the President of France and received clear support for Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
“The war must be ended as soon as possible with an honest peace. An honest peace is needed. Clear support for the fact that everything concerning Ukraine must be decided with Ukraine’s participation. The same should apply to every other independent state. Everyone must be respected. Thank you to everyone who shares this position with Ukraine.
As reported by Ukrinform, President Volodymyr Zelensky and Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson discussed in detail cooperation in the development of Ukrainian military aviation.
“We are currently determining which combat platforms our air force will operate on in the next stages. We have agreed that our teams – Ukraine and Sweden – will work through this issue in detail,” Zelensky said.
