Energy minister meets with Energoatom leadership

Minister of Energy Svitlana Hrynchuk held a meeting with Jarek Niewierowicz, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of JSC NNEGC Energoatom, Acting CEO Pavlo Kovtoniuk, and former CEO Petro Kotin.

The meeting was reported by the Ministry’s press service, according to Ukrinform.

The minister expressed confidence that Kovtoniuk’s extensive professional experience—particularly in managing the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant—would enable him to effectively fulfill his duties until a permanent CEO is appointed.

She also acknowledged the contributions of former CEO Petro Kotin to the development of Energoatom and thanked him for “ensuring the safe and efficient operation of nuclear power plants during the most challenging period.”

As previously reported, on August 21, the Supervisory Board of JSC NNEGC Energoatom accepted Petro Kotin’s resignation as Acting CEO and appointed Pavlo Kovtoniuk, Director General of the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant, as Acting CEO for the duration of the competitive selection process for a permanent head of the company.
