DM Shmyhal, German Vice Chancellor discuss drone production, Rheinmetall projects

Ukraine’s Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal and German Vice Chancellor, Federal Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil, discussed Ukraine’s needs in financing weapons production and procurement, as well as strengthening Ukraine’s air defense.

According to Ukrinform, Shmyhal reported this on Facebook.

Special attention was given to the development of joint enterprises, particularly in drone production, and the implementation of bilateral projects with the German defense company Rheinmetall.

During the meeting, Shmyhal emphasized that Ukraine greatly values Germany’s intention to deliver two Patriot systems.

He expressed gratitude to Germany for its unwavering support and noted that Ukraine counts on further productive cooperation for the security of all of Europe.

As reported earlier by Ukrinform, on August 1 Germany’s Defense Ministry announced that the Bundeswehr will supply Ukraine with additional Patriot air defense launchers.
