Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin is afraid to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to discuss terms for ending the war.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said this at a joint press conference with German Chancellor Fredrich Merz, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
Carney said Putin kept setting conditions and dragging things out because he was afraid of this meeting.
According to the Canadian prime minister, Zelensky is ready to meet Putin on any neutral territory.
Carney stressed that Zelensky is not expecting Putin to come to Kyiv nor does he plan to travel to Moscow for such a meeting. However, any neutral location would be acceptable, Carney added.
He added that it is crucial for Ukraine’s allies to continue providing support until such a meeting takes place.
