Pokrovsk, Lyman sectors see fiercest battles: 190 clashes on front over past day

On Sunday, August 31, there were 190 combat engagements between Ukraine’s Defense Forces and Russian invaders along the frontlines.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook regarding the situation as of 8:00 on Monday, September 1.

The enemy carried out one missile strike and 67 airstrikes, using one missile and dropping 117 guided bombs.

Also, Russian forces launched 5,780 shelling attacks, including 74 with multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), and deployed 5,780 attack drones.

Russian forces carried out airstrikes with guided bombs and unguided rockets on the settlements of Velyka Bereza and Seredyna-Buda in Sumy region, Bilytske in Donetsk region, Havrylivka in Dnipropetrovsk region, Uspenivka and Omelnyk in Zaporizhzhia region, and Odradokamianka in Kherson region.

Ukraine’s Air Force, missile units, and artillery struck a cluster of enemy personnel, weapons, and military equipment, two artillery systems, two UAV command posts, and another important Russian target.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Ukrainian defenders repelled four Russian attacks. The enemy launched 14 airstrikes, dropped 29 guided bombs, and carried out 249 shelling attacks, including six with MLRS.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, Ukrainian forces stopped 10 Russian assaults near Vovchansk, Hlyboke, Fyholivka, Zapadne, and Krasne Pershe.

In the Kupiansk sector, 10 enemy assaults took place. Ukraine’s Defense Forces repelled attacks near Synkivka, Stepova Novoselivka, and toward Novoplatonivka and Petropavlivka.

In the Lyman sector, Russian forces attacked 29 times, trying to breach Ukrainian defenses near Shandryholove, Kolodiazi, Karpivka, and toward Dronivka, Serebrianka, Yampil, and Hryhorivka.

In the Siversk sector, Ukrainian troops stopped 11 Russian assaults near Hryhorivka and Pereizne.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian invaders attacked five times toward Bila Hora and near Predtechyne.

In the Toretsk sector, nine Russian assaults took place in the areas of Toretsk, Dyliivka, and Poltavka.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 64 Russian assaults near Volodymyrivka, Mayak, Fedorivka, Nykonorivka, Nove Shakhove, Novoeconomichne, Myroliubivka, Sukhetske, Promin, Sukhyi Yar, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Orikhove, and Dachne.

In the Novopavlivka sector, Russian forces launched 25 assaults near Filiia, Yalta, Tovste, Oleksandrohrad, Maliivka, Voskresenka, and Komyshuvakha.

In the Huliaipole sector, no combat clashes were recorded.

In the Orikhiv sector, Russian forces attacked once, attempting to advance near Kamianske.

In the Prydniprovske sector, Ukrainian forces repelled five enemy assaults.

In the Volyn and Polissia sectors, no signs of enemy offensive group formation were detected.

As reported by Ukrinform, the total combat losses of Russian troops since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, from February 24, 2022, to September 1, 2025, amount to 1,082,990 personnel, including 850 over the past day.
