In the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region, a shootout broke out between units of Russia’s 127th Reconnaissance Brigade and 24th Motor Rifle Regiment, leaving 21 Russian soldiers dead and 17 wounded.
The Atesh partisan movement reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
According to an Atesh agent, the incident began when servicemen from the 24th Regiment opened fire on the positions of the 127th Brigade. Mistaking them for a Ukrainian sabotage and assault group, the 127th Brigade called in a reserve unit on alert, triggering a chaotic exchange of fire.
As a result, 21 Russian soldiers were killed and 17 injured.
Following the incident, internal inspections began within the units, with tighter controls and increased interrogations of personnel. Tensions inside the occupying army have escalated: distrust is growing, soldiers suspect each other of provocations, and commanders fear further conflicts.
