
In the first half of 2025, large and medium-sized businesses in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries generated nearly UAH 4.2 billion in pre-tax profit, which is 71.6% higher than during the same period last year.
These figures were published by the State Statistics Service, according to Ukrinform.
The agency reported that in the first six months of this year, large and medium-sized enterprises in the sector earned UAH 4.193 billion in profit, amounting to 171.6% of the figure recorded from January to June of the previous year.
At the same time, the share of unprofitable enterprises in the sector decreased from 53.1% to 32.4%.
Profit growth during the reporting period was also observed in other sectors. In industry, pre-tax profit rose by 7.0% to UAH 203.7 billion. In wholesale and retail trade and vehicle repair, it increased by 21.2% to UAH 87.2 billion. The temporary accommodation and food services sector saw a 41.6% rise to UAH 1.6 billion, while the information and telecommunications sector grew by 11.8% to UAH 21.7 billion.
Conversely, some sectors experienced a decline in profit. Finance and insurance dropped by 29.2% to UAH 167.85 billion. Construction decreased by 10.7% to UAH 4.04 billion. Transport, warehousing, postal, and courier services fell by 40.2% to UAH 25.3 billion.
As previously reported, since the beginning of 2025, 4,959 agricultural enterprises have received over UAH 31.8 billion in funding through the state program “Affordable Loans 5-7-9%.”
