
President Volodymyr Zelensky instructed NSDC Secretary Rustem Umerov to coordinate government officials, regional administrations, and energy companies in procuring additional air defense systems, in particular to shoot down Shaheds.
According to Ukrinform, the Head of State reported this on Telegram following the Staff meeting, where preparations for the heating season were discussed.
“I instructed the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Rustem Umerov, to coordinate government officials, regional administrations, and energy companies on the procurement of additional short- and medium-range air defense systems, as well as on increasing funding for drone manufacturers. The priority is intercepting “shaheds.” Reports on deliveries are to be submitted weekly,” he informed.
Also, according to the President, they discussed the protection of networks and energy facilities in frontline and border communities, as well as backup supply. At the same time, the meeting also focused on monitoring the implementation of instructions and the full implementation of agreements with partners regarding preparations for the heating season.
“Since the summer, we have been preparing our energy sectors for the winter. I am grateful to everyone involved who is fully carrying out their assigned tasks. It is essential to stay ahead of schedule in our preparations, taking into account all threats,” he noted.
According to Zelensky, there were also reports on the areas of extraction, energy supply, and electricity generation. He pointed out that important results were achieved by the Naftogaz and Ukrenergo teams.
“Further measures have been approved for the purchase of the necessary gas volumes,” the President added.
As reported by Ukrinform, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting with Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, where he instructed her to strengthen cooperation with international partners as part of preparations for winter and the heating season.
