In August 2025, Russian aircraft dropped 4,390 guided aerial bombs on positions of Ukraine’s Defense Forces and frontline settlements, according to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

“Throughout August, intense combat operations persisted along the entire front line. The enemy continues its attempts to implement aggressive plans and break through our defensive positions,” the ministry stated.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, there were 5,027 combat engagements recorded during the month. On August 28 alone, Russian forces launched over 190 attacks on Ukrainian positions.

“The Russian Federation continues to ignore the international community’s efforts to end the war against Ukraine. Instead, the Russian military is intensifying its aerial terror. In August, there was an increase in the use of aerial bombs equipped with universal planning and correction modules (guided aerial bombs),” the ministry reported.
