Ukraine will soon have a modern laboratory for conducting examinations related to Russia’s war crimes.

Yurii Belousov, Head of the Prosecutor General’s Office Department for Combating Crimes Committed in Conditions of Armed Conflict, said this at a press conference entitled “International Military Tribunal: what has changed in a year?” that was held at Ukrinform.

“With the assistance of the International Criminal Court, Ukraine will soon have one of the most modern laboratories for conducting examinations related to war crimes. These are various types of ballistic, explosive, chemical examinations,” Belousov said.

He clarified that Ukrainian experts will undergo special training for the work in this laboratory. According to Belousov, its activities will significantly speed up war crime investigations.

Earlier, Belousov said that 71,147 Russia’s war crimes had been recorded in Ukraine.
