Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles says six Leopard 2 tanks pledged to Ukraine are already on their way to the country.

That’s according to CNN, Ukrinform reports.

According to her, the tanks left the port city of Santander “along with 20 heavy transport.”

“In six days, going through another country, they will be in Ukraine,” defense minister said.

Robles said last week that four more Leopard tanks, in addition to the current six, would be sent to Ukraine “as soon as possible” following repairs.

A total of 55 Ukrainian soldiers underwent training in Spain on Leopard 2 main battle tanks.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain, Jose Manuel Albarez, stated at a joint press conference with his German counterpart Annalena Baerbock in Berlin that Spain provides great support to Ukraine, as never before in history, and will continue to do so.
