Russian army has killed 490 children and injured another 1,027 children in Ukraine.
“As of the morning of June 20, 2023, more than 1,517 children were killed and injured in Ukraine as a result of the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation. According to the official information from the juvenile prosecutors, 490 children were killed and more than 1,027 received injuries of various degrees of severity,” the Prosecutor General’s Office posted on Telegram.
These numbers are not final as efforts are ongoing to establish casualties in the areas of military operations, in temporarily captured and liberated territories.
Most children were killed and injured in Donetsk region – 465, Kharkiv region – 284, Kyiv region – 129, Kherson region – 113, Zaporizhzhia region – 91, Mykolaiv region – 89, Dnipropetrovsk region – 81, Chernihiv region – 71, Luhansk region – 67.
On Monday, June 19, a 12-year-old boy was injured in the enemy artillery shelling of Uhroyidy town, Sumy region.
As reported, Russian troops shelled the border communities of Sumy region 16 times on Monday. In Krasnopillia community, a civilian and a child born in 2010 were injured as a result of a direct hit to a residential building.
