Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov and U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin have had a phone conversation to discuss the recent events in Russia, as well as Ukraine’s counteroffensive.
The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov on Twitter, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Had a phone conversation with my friend and colleague, U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin III. We talked about recent events in russia. We agree that the russian authorities are weak and that withdrawing russian troops from Ukraine is the best choice for the kremlin. russia would be better served to address its own issues,” Reznikov wrote.
In addition, the parties spoke about Ukraine’s counteroffensive and the next steps in strengthening its Defense Forces.
“Things are moving in the right direction. Ukraine will win,” Reznikov concluded.
