Medic from Kherson region suspected of aiding Russian forces

A former doctor of the Kherson regional hospital is suspected of collaboration with the Russian invasion forces.

This was reported by the Kherson Regional Military Administration on Telegram, Ukrinform saw

“Law enforcers found out that in August 2022, the former doctor of the Kherson regional hospital became the ‘acting chief doctor’ of the ‘Aleshky Central District Hospital’ seized by the occupiers, the report says.

While performing his duties, the man registered the medical facility under Russian legislation and paid salary to personnel in Russian rubles. At the same time, he engaged in anti-Ukrainian propaganda, advocating for staff to cooperate with the occupiers and forcing employees to participate in pro-Russian events.

Law enforcers have pressed charges against the suspect in absentia.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine had exposed 31 more collaborators who joined the so-called “headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation” created by the aggressor state in the temporarily captured part of Kherson region.

Comprehensive measures are underway to bring the perpetrators to justice.

According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, among the suspects are four former employees of the National Police Department in Kherson region, who voluntarily flipped to the enemy side.

In addition, Ukraine government started sharing with the Interpol personal data of traitors and collaborators from Kharkiv region, who may have moved to the EU.

The Permanent Representative of Ukraine’s President for the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Tamila Tasheva, recently said the Ukrainian authorities could hold accountable nearly 10,000 collaborators who sided with the Russian authorities in the occupied peninsula.
