Tenth model: Reznikov shows Ukrainian FPV drones adopted into service by AFU

The tenth model of FPV drones will be delivered to the Armed Forces of Ukraine after a commission of the Ministry of Defense inspects it and a corresponding order is signed.

“We have a small anniversary. I am holding in my hands the 10th model of FPV drone which is officially adopted into service by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Convincing performance characteristics and a new scale of production. The main thing is the saved lives of our soldiers.

The necessary procedures were completed today by a relevant commission at the Department of Military-Technical Policy, Development of Weapons and Military Equipment of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, further – my order [should be issued]. This is the result of joint work, for which I want to thank my colleague Mykhailo Fedorov, the Army of Drones project, a manufacturing company, and all specialists involved in the process,” Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov posted on Facebook.

He noted that this FPV drone, like other models, is assembled in Ukraine but mainly from foreign components. The next level is to produce the main components in Ukraine and ensure diversification to guarantee the independence and sustainability of the supplies to the army under all circumstances.

Reznikov noted that the Ministry of Defense had already adopted into service/operation more than 30 models of UAVs of various types – reconnaissance, combat, kamikaze drones and loitering munitions – over the past 15 months. Ammunition for UAVs has been officially created as a separate category. All this is being tested on the battlefield by our soldiers, being modernized. Unification will take place gradually, the minister stressed.

He added that the Ministry of Defense was acting as flexibly as possible so that all capable teams of developers and manufacturers have the opportunity to prove themselves.

Thus, in September 2022, on the initiative of the Ministry of Defense, the procedures for putting weapons and military equipment into operation were significantly simplified. According to Reznikov, the formalities that used to take up to two years are now completed in a matter of weeks, and the Accelerator of the Ministry of Defense helps manufacturers in this.

“We will not build a factory the size of a stadium demonstratively. At least not now. We will find an asymmetric solution, the enemy will feel it on the battlefield,” the minister added.
