Ukraine returned another 22 military servicemen from Russia where they had been held as prisoners of war.
That’s according to the Head of the Office of the President, Andriy Yermak, who broke the news on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
“Today, another 22 Ukrainian soldiers were returned home from captivity. They are soldiers of the Armed Forces, two of them are officers and others are enlisted forces and non-commissioned officers. They took part in battles in various directions. There are wounded among those released,” Yermak wrote.
According to him, the oldest of the released defenders is 54 years old and the youngest is 23.
“All those freed will undergo a course of physical and psychological rehabilitation, reintegration and receive the necessary treatment with the support of medical specialists,” said the head of the President’s Office.
He expressed his gratitude to the Coordination Staff for the treatment of prisoners of war for the effort. “We have to fulfill the President’s task and get all our people back,” Yermak emphasized.
As reported by Ukrinform, in May the International Committee of the Red Cross managed to confirm the fact of captivity of hundreds of missing Ukrainians.
