Director of the National Anti-Corruption Center of Moldova (NACC) Iulian Rusu and Director of the State Bureau of Investigation of Ukraine Oleksiy Sukhachov signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of preventing and combating corruption.
As Moldpres reports, the NACC of Moldova stated that the document aimed to ensure close cooperation between the two institutions, including through the exchange of information and best practices in the field of preventing and combating corruption, investigating and exposing acts related to corruption.
By signing the agreement, the parties expressed their interest in cooperation in the following priority areas: exchange of information on legislation, research and other materials on the prevention, detection, exposure and investigation into crimes, as well as official investigations; exchange of best practices in the field of criminal investigation and internal investigations; exchange of knowledge about advanced technological solutions, innovations, IT applications and other tools used by each participant in the fight against criminal activity.
In order to ensure the effective prevention and detection of criminal acts, the parties intend to encourage and support direct cooperation through the implementation of joint projects and activities in accordance with the conditions to be jointly agreed.
Also, according to the provisions of the document, the participants guarantee the protection of the received secret information, and when transferring and using restricted access information, appropriate organizational and technical measures will be implemented to protect it from destruction, modification, accidental or illegal disclosure, as well as from any other illegal processing.
The signing ceremony took place in Chernivtsi. The agreement is concluded for an indefinite period.
