The Chiefs of Defense of the United States, several European NATO member states, and Ukraine have developed military options to support negotiations to bring a “lasting peace” in Europe.
This is said in a statement of the U.S. Office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, according to Ukrinform.
As noted, Chiefs of Defense from Finland, France, Germany, Italy, United Kingdom, Ukraine, United States, and the Supreme Allied Commander Europe, met on Tuesday and Wednesday in Washington, DC.
“These options will be presented to each nation’s respective national security advisors for appropriate consideration in ongoing diplomatic efforts. Planning and communication will continue as negotiations evolve,” the statement reads.
As reported by Ukrinform, Canada is actively exploring possible formats for its participation in a future operation to support lasting peace in Ukraine.
